WEDDING

DUFF—EDDY

St Matthew’s Church, Mastertoh, was artistically decorated this afternoon when the marriage took place of Miss Ola Eddy, daughter of Mr and Mrs A. H. Eddy, Masterton, and Trooper Gordon Duff, Second N.Z.E.F., son of Mr and Mrs William Duff of Hastings. The ceremony was performed by the Ven Archdeacon Ef J. Ricji and Mr H. Miller Hope was at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a becoming gown of cream brocade with shell pink orange blossom on the train and her tulle veil was caught up with a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a sheath of white azaleas, lily of the valley, shell-pink hyacinths and maiden hair fern.

Mrs A. E. Friend was matron of honour, and Miss Shirley Hayes, Lower Hutt, was bridesmaid. Each wore pretty frocks of salmon pink floral crepe susette, and carried sheaths of blue and cream hyacinths, tulips and fern. Margaret Connolly, niece of the bride, was flowergirl. Her frock was a replica of the bridesmaid’s and she carried a posy basket of blue and shellpink flowers. W.0.2 Bill Gatrell, of Marton, was best man, and Mr Arthur Welply was groomsman.

About one hundred guests were entertained at a reception held at the Masonic Hall, where they were received by Mesdames Eddy and Duff. Mrs Eddy was attired in a black and pink ensemble and wore a shoulder spray of orchids. Mrs Duff was attired in a wine georgette frock with a black tailored coat and shoulder spray in pink ton-, ings. The wedding cake was made by Mesdames H. L. Esau and L. Connolly. When Trooper and Mrs Duff left by car for the north the bride travelled in a lime green costume with tan accessories and wore a spray of orchids.
