ROTARY CLUB
REPORT ON RECENT ASSEMBLY. There was a goo<! attendance of members of the Masterton Rotary Club at the weekly meeting in the Y.M.C.A. today. The meeting took the form of a club day, when the president, Mr E. G. Coddington, reported on the business transacted at the District Governors’ North Island Assembly, held in Wellington last week. Mr Coddington stated that the assembly was an outstanding success. The large attendance, the wonderful spirit of enthusiasm and the high standard of the addresses given throughout the proceedings augured well for the activities of Rotary during the coming year. The president also touched on various matters affecting club organisation dealt with at the assembly. He also made special reference to an inspiring address delivered at the assembly by Padre Newell, entitled “What’s the Matter with Young John?” On the motion of Mr J. H. Cunningham, a hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr Coddington for his interesting review. Corporal lan James was a guest of the club at the luncheon.
