WHAT IS FREEDOM?

To say that New Zealand has lost her freedom while she is fighting for it is a slur on the name of our citizen soldiers. To classify wartime regulations as restriction of freedom is to show a littleness of mind on the one hand, and on the other to condemn countries like Great Britain, where wartime controls have been found equally essential to the economy of the nation, The Labour Party believes that no true freedom is possible until economic freedom is first assured. Hundreds of thousands of New Zealanders have, since Labour came to power, known freedom from want and freedom from fear foi’ the first time in their lives. The Hon. Peter Fraser has dedicated the Labour Party to following unswervingly the policy of giving economic freedom and security to all. Forthright and fearless, Peter Fraser will sec the job through. The “Manchester Guardian” has said of him: “In political leadership and administrative ability, Mr Fraser stands univailed today.” Those who have seen New Zealand plunged into a depression through “freedom” which became licence to exploit. and enjoy security and prosperity today because of a planned economy. will VOTE LABOUR AGAIN.— Advt.
