THE DAIRY INDUSTRY NEW SEASON'S CHEESE. (''Times-Age'’ Special.) This season’s cheese from factories in the Carterton district is now being sent to> the , cool stores at Wellington. Crates will be dispatched twice a week from now on. The output at the factories is not up to. the amount usually forwarded at this time of the year, owing, principally, to a dry autumn having 'caused a shortage of feed. Home and School Association. The committee of the Home and School Association, Carterton, will held a dance in the State Theatre on Wednesday, October 20. Personal Items. Mrs Worsley, of Clareville, has found it necessary to enter the Greytown Hospital for treatment. . Mr T. S. Arcus, of South Carterton, who is an inmate of the Croydon Hospital, is improving in health. Mr Trevor Catt, of Carterton, who has been employed at Messrs Feist and Co’s, store for some years, and who will enter a military camp shortly, was suitably farewelled by the manager, Mr Sorensen and staff on Saturday. Miss Verna Sorensen, of the officestaff of Messrs Feist and Co., Carterton, who is well known in musical circles, has left Carterton to join the Air Force. She was tendered a farewell by the staff on Saturday. Prisoners of War Parcels Fund. On Saturday night at the State Theatre, members of the Carterton branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union will hold a dance, the proceeds from which will go towards providing parcels for prisoners of war. Udy’s Orchestra will provide the music. A Monte Carlo competition will be held for which a prize of £1 will be awarded. Labour Party Shop Day. Members of the Carterton branch of the New Zealand Labour Party will hold a shop day in the committee room, High Street, on Friday. Donations in cash or kind will be much appreciated.
