GOLF CLUB COMPETITION. (“Times-Age” Special.) The following were the results of the mixed foursome played by members of the Greytown Golf Club over the weekend; —N. S. McLeod and Miss M. Carter, score 99, handicap 25, total 74; E. Maddison and Mrs Gold, 88-12-75; M. Pope and Miss J. Bouzaid, 107-30-77; S. Brice and Miss Wood, 105-27-78; S. Shedden and Mrs Thompson, 94-15-79; G. Brunton and Miss Quinn, 105-26-79; S. B. Adams and Mrs Jury, 99-19-80; E. Williams and Miss Oxford, 107-25-82; W. Tully and Miss Feast, 99-16-83; A. Peterson and Miss Maddison, 104-21-83. Personal items. Miss B. Gregor has returned from a holiday spent a’t Paekakariki. Mrs E. Richards has returned home after a holiday spent at Napier. Aircraftman B. Skeet is spending leave at Purakau. Corporal J. Duffy, who recently returned from the Middle East, has joined the staff of the Masterton Railway Station. Special Church Services. Special services were held at St. Luke’s Church, Greytown, on Sunday. At the morning service the Rev. J. C. Abbott gave an excellent address to the Sunday School children. In the evening special prayers and hymns, appropriate to the occasion, were given. Hockey Club Dance. The Greytown Hockey Club held a successful dance in the Odd Fellows’ Hall on Friday evening. Mr H. Me- . Kenna was M.C. and Mr S. Te Tau supplied the music. Extras were played by Mrs Anderson and Miss Carter. . The Monte Carlo dance was won by ’ Miss E. Dennes and RJRewi. ' Soldiers’ Parcel Fund. ! A special feature of the entertain- ; ment, “Mimes and Melodies,” to be : presented on Wednesday evening in : aid of the Greytown Soldiers’ Parcel ( Fund will be acrobatic and tap dances 1 by Miss Julie Tuppen, a talented Wellington performer. The one-act com- } I edy to be staged by the Drama Group 1 has been excellently cast by Mrs C. 3 Brooking, and effective stage decorations for this scene will be arranged I by Miss E. Stephens. For “Picnic jj Party” and “A Page From the Past,” *■ special lighting and scenic effects will 1 be controlled by Mr C. G.
