LADIES’ GUILD. MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS 1 At the monthly meeting of the Masterton Methodist Ladies’ Social Guild, Mrs G. I-I. Goodman presided, and was assisted by Mrs Bateup, who conducted the devotional period. A welcome was extended to meinbers of the Kuripuni Ladies’ Guild, and Miss Burton on behalf of the visitors returned thanks. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Bate, Ledley, Daniell and Mrs Blane, of the Kuripuni Guild. As the Missionary Auxiliary urgently required money fpr the Solomon Rehabilitation Fund, it was decided that the Guild forego its annual Christmas gift sale this year. The Happy Thought was given by Mrs Hendry. Pianoforte solos were given by Mrs Barnes, and elocutionary and singing items by a party of boys and girls of the Methodist Children’s Home. Afternoon tea, provided by the members, was served by Mesdames Fly and Shoosmith. Votes of thanks were accorded to Mrs Bateup, to Mrs Barnes, to the children from the Home and to Mesdames Fly and Shoosmith, the tea hostesses.
