Miss Dulcie Haigh (W.A.A.C.) returned to her station on Monday after having spent the week-end with her parents, Mr and Mrs E.* Haigh, Main Street. Soldiers’ Parcels Fund. Great interest is being taken in “Mimes and Melodies,” an entertainment organised by Mrs J. F. Thompson in aid of the Greytown Soldiers Parcels Fund. This will be presented at the Town Hall on Wednesday, September 15. The programme consists of “Picnic Party,” a musical medley containing song numbers directed by Mrs Trevor Tully, bright ballets arranged by Misses Joan Bouzaid and Enid Thompson and other attractice items; “A Page From the Past,” a portrayal of early Maori days by means of song and story; and a one-act comedy, “Making It Pay,” presented by the Greytown Drama Group, and produced j by Mrs C. Brooking. Seats may be reserved at Mr H. G. Carter’s shop on ( production of tickets on and after Fri- ( day, September 10.
