Parliamentary Discussions.
Those who listened in to Parliament must have.formed the opinion that the standard of debate had degenerated to third-class vaudeville, said Captain Justin Power, Independent candidate for Masterton, speaking at Kopuaranga last night. One of the first objectives of the Independent group, if returned in strength, would be to raise the tone of the Parliamentary discussions.
Hobo Dance. At the American Red Cross Service Club. Masterton, last night, a highly successful “hobo dance” was held. The rooms were effectively decorated to represent “hobo” scenes, which featured old clothes hanging from a line across the room and a camp fire. All present entered into the spirit of the programme. The music was supplied by a Marine Band, and special 'tap dance items were contributed.
The Independent candidate for the Masterton seat, Captain Justin Power, will address a public meeting at Mauriceville West at 8 o’clock tonight.
