Personal Items. Mr Brooking, assistant headmaster of the High School, has returned from Auckland. Miss R. Collier has returned home after having spent a holiday at Norsewood. Miss Tully has returned to Waipawa after having spent a holiday with her mother, Mrs Tully, Senr., Main Street. Miss Askew has returned from Christchurch, where she spent the school vacation. Mrs Morris, Senr., McMaster Street, spent the week-end in Wellington. Miss Harding has resumed her duties at the District High School. Misses Esme and Eunice Best, of Wellington, spent the week-end with their parents, Mr and Mrs F. Best, Main Street. Miss Esme Nichols, of Wellington, was a week-end visitor to Greytown, staying with her parents, Mr and Mrs J. F. Nichols, West Street. Miss Dawn Downes, of Day's Bay, has been spending the school holidays with her aunt, Mrs Lyford. Large Area Covered. A South Wairarapa agricultural contractor has in twelve months covered 6450 acres in agricultural operations on all types of country.
