WELLINGTON CHAMPIONSHIPS. RESULTS OF SATURDAY’S GAMES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. By defeating Petone by 11 points to 3 at Athletic Park on Saturday afternoon, Poneke-Oriental won the Jubilee Cup. the.blue ribband of senior Rugby in Wellington for the 1943 season. The weather was atrocious, heavy rain falling. Results: — Jubilee Cup: Poneke-Oriental 11 beat Petone 3; Athletic 14 beat Wellington College Old Boys 6; Marist Brothers’ Old Boys 9 drew with Hutt 9. The match between Army and Wellington was not played. Hardham Cup: Navy 5 beat University 3; Eastbourne won from Air Force b~y default, and the match between Seatoun and A.N.A. was not played. Johnsonville is leading in the competition.
