SUNK OR DAMAGED

ENEMY SHIPPING OFF DUTCH COAST. ATTACK BY \ CONS. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.59 a.m.) RUGBY, September 5. Typhoon bombers of Fighter Command, with escorts of Typhoon fighters, attacked shipping off the Dutch Islands this morning. Although they were operating in the estuary areas of me Scnelde, no enemy aircraft appeared to protect the shipping. Two small motor ships, a large tug and a motor barge were sunk, and a coaster and anomer tug severely damaged, and a third tug and barges hit. Two German naval motor boats of the E or R type, earlier reported damaged, are known to have been sunk by Fleet Air Arm Albacores, operating with the Fighter Command earlier in the day.
