SOCIAL EVENING

MASTERTON LITTLE THEATRE SOCIETY. THREE ONE-ACT PLAYS PRESENTED. In spite of the wet weather there was a good attendance at a social gathering held by the Masterton Little Theatre Society on Saturday night when three one-act plays were presented. The plays were:— “Smoke Screens” by Harold Bridghouse, produced by Miss June Yelverton: Cast: Miss Mary McLaren, Lucy Ashton; Miss Hira Ta where, Primrose Ashton; Miss Helen Ward, Susan Merridew; Miss Elizabeth Thomas, Clarice. “The House with Twisted Windows,” by Mary Pakington, produced by Corporal C. Beavis. Cast: Jas. Roper, K.C., Mr H. McKenzie Douglas; Teresa, Lady Ponting, Mrs H. Berney; Charles Clive, Mr Evan Jaine; Heather Sorrell, Miss C: M. Francis; Ann Sorrell, Mrs Cresswell; Derick Moore, Corporal C. Beavis; Stepan, Mr M. M. Simpson. “The Magic Suit,” by Morsewich, also produced by Corporal Beavis: Mr Penny, Mr A. E. Clemas: Mrs Pennj , > Mrs Jordan; Alex Gridley, Mr Evan Jaine; Mrs Sinclair, Mrs, Heasley; waitress, Miss W. Young; Sidebotham (Fingers), Mr J. A. Kennedy; Tony, Mr V. Joseph; Lord Humphrey Crawshaw, Mr Heasley. After the performances supper was served and members had an opportunity of social intercourse not possible at usual play readings. The committee hopes to be able to arrange another similar evening in the future.
