LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST SOUTHERLY CHANGE. WITH PASSING SHOWERS. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— DISTRICT FORECAST: Moderate to fresh southerly winds strong in exposed positions. Weather soon becoming cold and changeable with passing showers and scattered snow on the ranges. FURTHER OUTLOOK: Little improvement. The Waingawa sub-station, P.W.D., reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:—Shade temperature, 62.5; minimum, 30; terrestrial, 22.7; sunshine, 10 hours 30 minutes, frost, 7.7 degrees.
