CARTERTON
PASTURES IMPROVING MILK SUPPLY SHOWS INCREASE. (“Times-Age'’ Special.) Pastures are coming away well as the result of the fine weather during the past few days. The supply of milk to most of the dairy factories in the district is showing an increase. Championship Ball. Tonight there should be a record attendance at the Carterton Football Club’s championship ball at the State Theatre. Ashton’s Orchestra will supply the music. Personal Items. Private D. J. Irwin was home on leave on Monday jind returned to camp last evening. Before leaving he was met by the Mayor and a number of citizens at the Council Chambers and given a send off. The Mayor, in asking their guest to accept a gift from the citizens of Carterton, wished Pte. Irwin the best of luck and a safe return. Pte. Irwin suitably replied. Mrs Carl Larsen, who underwent an operation at the Croydon Hospital on Tuesday, is doing as well as can be expected.
