PATRIOTIC FUND
Pahiatua, Carterton, Akitio and Marlinborough are to be congratulated upon having reached and exceeded the target they aimed at. Eketahuna has only £34 to get, but Masterton, Greytown and Featherston have all some distance to go. Masterton aimed rd £10.374, but the total of £B7OO subscribed to date is £1673 short of the objective.
In 1941 Masterton raised £15,678, and in last years appeal £11,452, both figures being well in excess of the quota.
The Masterton and District Patriotic Committee appeals to all who, while appreciating the need for patriotic giving, and who have not yet made their contribution this year to the fund, to hand in a donation now to the Town Clerk. Contributions both large and small will be all equally acceptable. Additional donations are: —
MASTERTON AND DISTRICT APPEAL STILL £1673 REQUIRED. ADDITIONAL DONATIONS INVITED. The 1943 Patriotic Appeal closes on September 30. This leaves only a month to reach the Wairarapa zone quota of £26,703, of which £23,837 has been collected, leaving a deficit of £2870.
