LORD BURGHLEY
APPOINTED TO COMMAND IN BERMUDA. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.25 a.m.) RUGBY, August 23/ Lord Burghley has been appointed Commander-in-Chief in Bermuda, in succession to Viscount Knolly, who recently tendered his resignation. Lord Burghley, at present controller of overseas supplies and aircraft repairs in the Ministry of Aircraft Production, visited New Zealand recently. He won the quarter mile hurdles at the Olympic Games in 1928 and also held eight British running championships.
