PERSONAL ITEMS (“Times-Age” Special.) The funeral of the late Mrs Lucy Lydia Campin, relict of Mr W. B. Campin, took place on Saturday afternoon. A service was held at King's Mortuary Chapel by the .Rev. W. J. Couling, of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, who also officiated at the graveside. The pall-bearers were Messrs W. B. Campin, N. S. Cadwallader, J. W. Warrington and C. J. DeLacey. Mr D. J. Goodin, of Lower Hutt, was a visitor to Carterton at the weekend. Labour Party Card Tourney. Theer was a good attendance at the weekly card tournament held by the Labour Party Committee on Saturday night. The prizes were won as follows: —Ladies, Mrs H. Goodin 1. Mrs Lenihan 2; men, Mr Morris 1, Mr Wadsworth 2. Farewell to Soldiers Fund. There should be a large attendance at the State Theatre tonight when a dance to raise money for the farewell to soldiers fund will be held. Up to date the borough has farewelled 147 soldiers and airmen and four nurses. Ashton’s Orchestra will provide the music and a good supper will be proI vided. Dance at Belvedere. A patriotic dance will be held in the Belvedere schoolroom on Friday night. Good music and supper will be provided and a most enjoyable evening is promised those who attend. Gift from Maoris. At the Maori dance held in the State Theatre, Carterton, on Saturday evening a very pleasing fixture was the handing over of the net proceeds of the dance, some £l4, to Mr D. L. Taverner, Mayor of Carterton. This money is for patriotic purposes and the presentation was made by Mr Peter Paku. who asked the Mayor to accept the. amount as a gift from the Carterton .
