Several Filipinos picked up by a United States vessel after 32 days at sea in a stolen Japanese fishing-boat, said that people who had not lived under the Japanese did not know how thankful they should be. The Japanese raided homes, taking food and money, then made men, women and children work for starvation rations. Filipinos were not co-operating and were awaiting the time to strike back.
