ARGENTINE MEAT
BRITISH PURCHASE AGREEMENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, August 21. The British Minister of Food has completed with the Argentine the purchase of the exportable surplus of Argentine meat for two years ending September 30, 1944. Shipments proceeded in the past season in anticipation of such an agreement. The Ministry made the purchase on behalf of the United Nations. A similar agreement with Brazil and Uraguay may be finalised in the next few days. Supplies will be allocated in accordance with the recommendations of the combined food board.
