MAURICEVILLE

WOMEN’S DIVISION "KIDDIES' CARNIVAL” FUND. ("Times-Age" Special.) A meeting of the Mauriceville-Ihu-raua branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union was held at Mrs Milner's residence to arrange for gatherings to be held for the purpose of raising funds for the "kiddies' carnival.” the proceeds from which will go to provide comforts for men of the Merchant Navy and the soldiers’ parcel fund. Mrs J. McArley was elected secretary. It was decided to conduct two euchre parties, a "hard up” dance and fancy dress dance for children. Several gatherings will also be held at private residences. It was reported that many letters of appreciation had been received from local soldiers and from men of the Merchant Navy in connection with parcels received.
