Forged Banknotes.

It is stated that forged £1 banknotes are in circulation. The notes bear the number 2/M 35511. Hockey Club Dance. Members of the Excelsior Hockey Club held a most successful dance in the Masonic Hall, Masterton, last night. The music was supplied by Barnes's Orchestra and Mr A. Southey was an efficient IVI.C. Supper was served to the large gathering by a ladies' committee. Mail Train Delayed. The north-bound mail train was about an hour and a half late in arriving in Masterton today on account of a delay due to a derailment to a suburban train between Upper and Lower Hutt. The engine and several carriages are stated to have left the line but it is understood that ho one was injured.
