OUTPATIENT TREATMENT

IMPROVED ACCOMMODATION.

USE OF NEW BLOCK

At yesterday’s meeting of the Wairarapa Hospital Board, a proposal by the Medical Superintendent of the Masterton Hospital (Dr. T. L. Parr) that the north end of the new block should be made suitable for use as an out-patient department, mainly for military cases, was adopted. Dr. Parr said the accommodation would be needed in the near future, and his proposal would be the simplest way of providing it. Mr D. McGregor said Dr. Parr's suggestion was a practical, commonsense solution.

Mr Thompson said the idea was excellent, and would raise the standard of health in the district by an improved outpatient service. Mrs S. Fletcher suggested that when the nurses’ old home was completed, one of the Public Works huts could be removed close to the Tuberculosis Ward for use as an outpatient building.
