RAID ON BRITAIN
MOST EXTENSIVE FOR SOME TIME (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.20 a.m.) LONDON, August 18. Last night’s raid against Britain was the most extensive for some time past, but no concentrated attack was made. About fifty raiders participated in the attacks and high-explosive bombs were dropped on six places in South-Eastern England. High-explosives and incendiaries were dropped also in parts of Eastern England.
The Berlin radio stated that the Luftwaffe raided South-East England and the Midlands, also military installations at Lincoln.
