The commanding officer of the United States Marine Corps forces in this area has announced the results of a General Court Martial in the case of Private Marion E. Cole, United States Marine Corps. Private Cole was charged with conduct to the prejudice of good order and discipline (assaulting and striking a civilian with a knife). The accused was found guilty and sentenced to be confined for a long period of time in the naval prison at Mare Island, California, and then to be dishonourably discharged from the United States naval service, suffering the loss of civilian privileges attendant thereto.
