SIX GERMAN PLANES

SHOT DOWN OVER BRITAIN. OUT OF ABOUT 25 SENT OVER. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 12.50 p.m.) RUGBY, August 16. The Germans lost six out of about 25 aircraft they sent last night over England’s south coast. A sharp hit and run attack was made on one coast town, the worst attack it had had for' some months. Many houses were hit and some people were killed. In another town a bomb hit an air raid shelter and it is feared there were some casualties.

The total of ten British bombers lost in last night’s operations included one lost over Milan.
