DEMOCRATIC LABOUR PARTY

MASTERTON BRANCH MEETING.

AIRCRAFTMAN D. THOMPSON’S CANDIDATURE.

A general meeting of the Masterton branch ofi-the Democratic Labour Party was held at the weekend. The president, Mr E. J. Esler, was in the chair. Mi’ Esler explained that as he was engaged in an essential industry in which there was a heavy pressure of work he did not seek nomination as a Parliamentary candidate. Speaking personally and not as president of the branch, Mr Esler said to his mind the first and greatest job in hand was to win the war.

The branch unanimously decided to endorse Aircraftman Donald Thompson’s nomination as the candidate of the Democratic Labour Party for the Masterton seat.

A meeting of friends and supporters will be held in the Y.M.C.A. on Friday, August 20 at 8 p.m.
