WEDDING
HAZELRIGG—O’HARA.
A pretty wedding took place last Wednesday afternoon at St. Matthew’s Church, Masterton, when Winifred Nancy, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs S. O’Hara, of Whareama, Masterton, was married to P.F.C. Marvin Faires, U.S.M.C., youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs B. Hazelrigg, of Savannah, Missouri, U.SA. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. Tye, of Tinui, and the organist was Mr MillerHope. The bride, who was escorted by her father, looked charming in a frock of magnolia taffeta, cut on princess lines, with tucked bodice, and heart-shaped neckline, and full trained skirt. The beautiful embroidered veil, which was kindly lent by a friend, was held in place with a halo of white flowers. A sheaf of arum lilies completed a charming toilette. . The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Coie O'Hara, who wore a becoming frock of forget-me-not blue taffeta, with ruched bodice, long sleeves and a full skirt. Her bouquet was of pink camelias, and peach blossom, and she wore a halo of daphne and spring blossom. A small cousin, Phyllis Street, acted as flowergirl. and wore a frock of pink taffeta with rucked bodice and full skirt, and a halo of blue and pink flowers. Her posy was of pink and blue flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Corporal Elmer Harris, U.S.M.C. • The church was beautifully decorated with pink camelias and peach blossom. A reception was afterwards held at the Savage Club rooms where Mr and Mrs S. O'Hara received about 70 guests. The usual toasts were honoured.
Later Mr and Mrs Hazelrigg'left for the north by car, the bride wearing a tailored American check costume with black model hat and accessories, and shoulder spray of red and cream.
