SCOUTS AND CUBS

ACTIVITIES IN MASTERTON. The parade on Friday evening of the Mo Katoa Scouts began by the breaking of the Hag, and then a run through the town, led by the new assistant Scoutmaster, Mr E. Pedersen. After a game of handball the boys started on the programme of training for the night which included first aid, knotting, lashing and tripod building. The boys are looking forward to the football match against the Eketahuna Scout Troop next Saturday. At the Mo Katoa Cub Pack's parade on Thursday there was a good attendance. Cub work, including instruction in the composition of the Union Jack, for the first star Cubs and first aid for the second star Cubs was carried out. Many of the second star Cubs are very keen to pass their first aid proficiency badge. Many interesting games were also played. The meeting was brought to a close with the “grand howl” led by one of the sixers.
