GREYTOWN
LABOUR PARTY SUCCESSFUL DANCE. (“Times-Age” Special.) The election campaign committee of the Greytown Labour Party held a plain and fancy and air raid dance in the Town Hall last night. There was a large attendance and the gathering was excellently managed, these present spending a most enjoyable time The judges of the fancy dresses and costumes were Mrs Fell, Mr Horton and Mr Karaitiana. The winners in the fancy costume section were:—Mr and Mrs N. Woodley (Dick Turpin) 1; Mrs G. Hood. 2; men, Mr F. Clements', s'. Air raid: Mr Fell Junr. and Mrs F. Anderson. The Monte Carlo dance was won by Mr T. Karaitiana and Mrs R. McHardy, and the statue dance by Mr Macintosh and partner. Competition winners were: —Cord of firewood: Mrs N. A. Smith: bag of (lour. K. Flood: cigarettes. Mr G. Turei. The music was supplied by Mr Len Daysh’s Orchestra and extras were played by Messrs Sam Te Tau. R. Te Tau and W. Lunn. The duties of Ms.C. were carried out by Messrs F. Clement and H. McKenna. Trust Lands Trust Meeting. At the monthly meeting of the Greytown Town Lands Trust there were present: Messrs F. Dennes (chairman). H. G. Carter. W. Grigg. H. J. Nightingale and the secretary (Mr J. Kiernan). , , , Mr F. J. Brooks reported that he had planted 1400 pine trees in the plantation. Mr F. Best was appointed to fill the vacancy due to the death of Mr W. H. Day.
TOWN HALL “BEYOND THE. BLUE HORIZON.” The excellent drama, “Beyond the Blue Horizon,” will be shown tonight. _
