INCREASED OUTPUT
MAURICEVILLE DAIRY CO. DRY SEASON AFFECTS. PRODUCTION. DIRECTORS ANNUAL REPORT. “The output for the season was 833 1-3 tons, an increase of 282 tons, due to the return of suppliers who had been diverted to cheese factories the previous season,” states the annual report of the Mauriceville Co-operative Dairy Co. Ltd.” The output was seriously affected by a very dry season in Southern Wairarapa, and normally would have been about 1000 tons. “In accordance with the dairy Industry Accounts Regulations. 1939, we have to report as follows: — "(1) In respect of the previous year. 1941-42, the estimated season average payout per pound for all butterfat (all grades) which was quoted in our last year's report was 15.5814 d., which was the amount acutally paid out. In ’ addition, a compensating payment i made by the Marketing Department ’ for increased costs due to supply being diverted to cheese, enabled a further payment of .375 d. per lb. butterfat, making the total payout for the 194142 season 15.95G4d. per lb. butterfat, all grades. “(2) In respect of the current year: The unsold butter at factory has been valued at Is 3£d per lb. Full allowance has been made for all accnued charges such as levy, freezing and storage, differential charges, and all charges f.o.b. The estimated season average payout per lb. butterfat (all grades) which should result from the disposal of unsold butter at values named above should be 16.1426 d.
“During the season the average payment for all grades was 13.8926 d. On 20th July, at final payment of 2.25 d. per lb. butterfat was made, bringing the total payout for the season to 16.1426 d. per lb. butterfat all grades, as stated. “In respect of the allowance of lid. per lb. on butterfat supplied by those who returned from cheese to butter for the 1942-43 season, we have paid out £3,985 8s 3d. This is not included in any average payment set out above. “The appropriation account shews a balance of £14,603 12s sd. available for distribution. The .final payment of 2.25 d per lb. butterfat absorbed £14,345 19s 6d. Your directors recommend a dividend of 5% on paid-up capital as at 31st May, 1942 This will absorb £ll7 11s’., leaving a balance of £l4O Is lid. to be carried forward.
“During the year, Mr Robert Flynn resigned from the directorate. Messrs. V. K. Lemberg and S. J. Clarke retire by rotation. You will, therefore, require to elect three directors to fill these vacancies, Messrs. Lemberg and Clarke, being eligible, offec themselves for re-election.
“You will also be required to appoint an auditor, and fix his remuneration for the ensuing year. Mr A Keith. A.P.A. (N.Z.), again offers his services. “The thanks of shareholders and suppliers are due to the staff and cream collectors for their good services during the year.” The report is signed by Mr 7. k.
