BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEET.
SUB-COMMITTEES SET UP.
The Y.M.C.A. Board of Directors met in the Board Room on Wednesday, under the chairmanship of the president, Mr J. A. Kennedy. Other directors present were Messrs E. M. Hodder. C. Sutherland, T. A. Russell, W. Flaws, L. Hunter, J. W. J. Jones, H. R. Keltie, L. B. Maunsell, E. Little and E. Esler. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs A. Tatton and J. Y. Douglas.
Mr L. M. Johansen, the. general sec- 1 retary, was officially welcomed.
Sub-committees were appointed to co-operate with the general secretary in the Association’s work. Messrs J. A. Kennedy, W. Flaws, T. A. Russell and A. Tatton were elected chairmen of the Executive, Social, House and Youth Committee, respectively. _ Regret was expressed at the resignation of Mr J. W. J. Jones, and best wishes for the future were extended to him.
Mr Esler spoke briefly upon the activities of the Optimists’ Club. Mr L. B. Maunsell, who, because of illness, had not been able to attend recent board meetings, was welcomed back by the president. The need for co-operation and an active youth organisation was expressed unanimously.
