WEDDING

ALMAO—ROLLO A wedding of interest to Masterton and Wellington residents was celebrated at St Paul’s Pro-Cathedral. Wellington, recently, when Mary Edith, second daughter of Mr T. R. Rollo, Masterton, was married to Jack, younger son of Mr S. C. Almao and the late Mrs Almao, Wellington. Canon D. J. Davies officiated. The bride, who was escorted by her father, made a charming picture in a gown of white chenille georgette. Her softly embroidered veil, kindly lent by a friend, was worn with a top knot of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of winter roses, freesias, carnations and maidenhair fern.

The bridesmaids, Misses Edna (chief) and Joan Rollo, sisters of the bride, were dressed alike in fuschia—coloured frocks of taffeta and ripple sheer and carried muffs to tone with sprays of cyclamen and violets. Fine veils worn with topknots of violets completed their colourful frocking. Sgt. Frank Fitz-George (Wellington) was best man and Corporal Bob Richmond (Wellington) was groomsman. After the ceremony relatives and close friends gathered at the Boronia Lounge where Mrs A. L. Woodd, of Palmerston North, sister of the bride, assisted by Mrs ,S. Almao, Junr.. of Wellington, received the guests. Mrs Woodd wore a black English worsted coat over a crepe frock of black with matching accessories, and Mrs Almao attired in a tan crepe frock and fur jacket with a toning hat and gloves. Mr A. L. Woodd acted as toastmaster, the usual toasts being honoured. The bride's travelling suit was of wine corduroy velvet and matching accessories with touches of blue. The future home of Sgt. and Mrs Almao will be in Wellington.
