ARMED TAXI HOLD UP
THREE SERVICE MEN APPREHENDED.
TO BE TRIED BY COURT MARTIAL
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
WELLINGTON, This Day.
Three service men who, it is alleged, were involved in the armed taxi holdup in Wellington on Saturday night have been apprehended, and are in confinement awaiting trial by courtmartial for the offence. Advice has been received from Marine Corps headquarters that of the nine cases of trouble between men in uniform and taxi-drivers reported to the conference of authorities on Tuesday, only seven were reported to the Marine Corps at the time. Of five arrests made only two of the men were subject to the disciplinary control of the provost section. These were dealt with according to military law. Two others of the men were of a special unit, and the fifth was a seafarer.
