CALEDONIAN SOCIETY
FINAL INGLESIDE OF SEASON.
LAST NIGHT’S ENJOYABLE GATHERING.
The final Ingleside this season for members and their friends held by the Wairarapa Caledonian Society in the Masonic Hall, Masterton, last night, was an outstanding success and proved thoroughly enjoyable to the large gathering present. A feature was the presence of the Wairarapa College Pipe Band who gave two selections for which it received well deserved applause. The music for the Eightsome reels and the Highland Schottische was piped by Pipe-Major Murdoch McKenzie. Mr J. Barnes's Orchestra played the dance music and Messrs J. JHunter and R. McKenzie were efficient M's.C.
The address to the haggis (again kindly made by Mrs Bell) was carried out with ceremony by the president, Mr Jock McKenzie, and a savoury supper was served by a committee headed by Mrs W. James. Mr McKenzie thanked members for the way in which they had supported the gatherings and thanked members of the ladies’ committee and the directors for their splendid co-op-eration. On the call of Mr R. McKenzie cheers were given for the College Band. ___________
