SOLWAY RAINFALL
RECORD FOR JULY. Mr H.. M. Boddington reports that rain was measured at Solway on 18 days in July. The maximum fall was 1.86 inches on the Ist, and the minimum 1 point on the 9th. The total for the month was 4.67 inches as against 5.78 (1942), 2.91 (1941). 3.68 (1940). 7.66 (1939). 3.80 (1938). The average for 40 years is 4.28 inches. The total rainfall for the seven months of the present year is 18.86 inches as compared with 28.32 (1942). 26.98 (1941), 18.94 (1940), 18.22 (1939), 29.00 (1938). The average for 40 years is 23.31 inches.
