GET ON THE ROLL GO TO THE POLL
It is compulsory under the law for every person who has reached 21 years of age to get his or her name on the Electoral Roll. It is, in addition, a national duty to go to the Poll. Those who should record their votes but do not do so fail in one of the highest privileges of citizenship. This year in particular it is highly desirable that all voters should make sure of getting their names on the roll. There has been no General Election for five years, and many thousands of 1 young people have reached voter's age since 1938. The opinion of these new voters on the national issues to be placed before the electors on September 25, is needed if a true picture is to be obtained of the national state of mind. The young voters, too, naturally have a larger stake in the future of New Zealand than any other group in the community. They can make New Zealand what they wish if they will but edrry out the duty and privilege of recording their votes. So far as the Electoral Roll is concerned, the main roll will presently kfe available at all post offices for inspection. Study the roll at the first opportunity and if your name is not there secure an enrolment form at the post office and send it to the Registrar of Electors. If this is done promptly, your name will appear in the Supplementary Roll, which will be issued before the election. Alternately, you can secure an enrolment form at once from any post office and send it to the Registrar of Electors, who will place your name on the Roll if it is not already there. Act at once. /
