OBITUARY
MRS J. HARRIS. The death occurred on Saturday at the Masterton Hospital of Mrs Eliza Emily Harris, widow of the late Mr James Harris, of 41 Worksop Road. The late Mrs Harris was in her 91st year. Three months after her marriage, which took place in Cornwall, England, Mrs Harris arrived at Lyttelton with her husband in 1875. After spending six or seven months in Christchurch, Mr and Mrs Harris went to Wanganui and then to Masterton. Her husband, who was a well-known haitdiessei, predeceased her 52 years ago. She is survived by one son. Mr H. Harris, and two daughters, Mrs A. Buick and Miss F. Harris, of Masterton. The funeral will be a private one. MRS C. WAGLAND. The death occurred in Palmerston North last night of Mrs Elizabeth Wagland, widow of the late Mr Chailes Wagland, of Masterton. The late Mrs Wagland had resided for many years in Masterton, where her husband conducted a butchery business for many years, and was later a successful breeder of sheep. Mrs Wagland, who was highly esteemed for her many fine personal • qualities, was associated with the Knox Ladies Guild during her residence in Masterton. Following the death of her husband in 1926, she had resided in Palmerston North since about 1930. She was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs W. Eagle, of Carterton. The funeral will take place at the Masterton Cemetery at 2 p.m. tomorrow.
MRS J. WHITEHEAD
The death occurred at Martinborough yesterday of Mrs Mary Alexandra Whitehead, wife of Mr James Whitehead, at the age of 57 years. The late Mrs Whitehead, who was born in Dannevirke, had resided in Martinborough for over 30 years. She is survived, besides her husband, by two sons and one daughter. One son resides in Masterton., and the daughter. Mrs Grimstone, in Martinborough. The funeral will take place in Masterton tomorrow, leaving the chapel of Hyde's Funeral Service, following a service at 1 p.m., for the Masterton cemetery.
