RUSSIANS ON THE OREL FRONT CONTINUED GERMAN FAILURE ,IN DONETZ AREA. INTENSE PATROL ACTIVITY NEAR LENINGRAD. LONDON, August 2. A Moscow communique slates that in its advance on flic Orel front, the Red Army Jias gained six miles in. some sectors and lias reoccupied over 70 towns and villages. Among the places captured is a district centre 35 miles north of Orel. In the Donetz Basin, south-west of Voroshilovgrad, Soviet forces have again repulsed large forces of German infantry and tanks On the Leningrad front patrol activity is intense.
