PROGRESS ON ESTIMATES

t NINE CLASSES PASSED BY HOUSE. I (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Nine classes of departmental estimates representing an aggregate vote of £8,495.420 were approved by the House of Representatives yesterday. This makes the total votes sanctioned to date £25.881.745. Tile House resumed at 10.30 a.m., but a long discussion on the Mines Department vote and a somewhat similar one on the Social Security and the Health Department’s estimates delayed progress, and on the motion of the Deputy Leader of the House. Mr Sullivan, the sitting was extended beyond 5.30 p.m. Progress was then rapid and four other votes were passed with practically no discussion, and the House rose at 5.45 p.m. till Tuesday at 2.30 p.m.
