MEETING OF WAIRARAPA UNION. RETURN MATCHES WITH BUSH ARRANGED. At a meeting of the committee of the Wairarapa Rugby Football Union at Carterton last night the treasurer reported a credit balance of £6O 10s Bd. and stated that the gate receipts this season had shown an increase over 1942 of £33 19s. Leave was granted to the Wairarapa College team to play in a quadrangle tournament at Rongotai next month. The Old Boys’ Football Club • wrote protesting. against the classification of some of its players to the senior grade. The letter was received. The Wairarapa Primary Football Union was granted £l2 10s towards the expenses of the local team at the school tournament at Wellington. It was resolved to play return senior and third grade games against bush at Pahiatua on August 21. In both cases players are to be asked to provide their own travelling expenses. It was resolved to close the senior and third grade B competitions on August 7. It was decided that on August 14 at Carterton a return game, Services v. Wairarapa. be played. The Carterton A v. Old Boys third grade teams will provide the curtainraiser.
