4 CARTERTON SALE. LATE' RATES MAINTAINED. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co.. Ltd., report as follows on their Carterton sale yes-terday:—-A good yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward. Prices were on a par with late rates and a total clearance was effected under the hammer. The following are some of the realisations:— Sheep: Prime hoggets, 29s 6d to 29s 7d: fat hoggets. 22s (id. 24s 3d to 25s Gd: fat wethers, to 38s 3d; forward wethers, to 255: ewe hoggets, to 19s lOd: ewes. r.w. S.D. ram. to 13s 7d; cull hoggets, to 4s. Cattle: Choice 3-yr. Jersey-cross heifers on drop. £ll to £l3 10s; 2-yr. Jersey heifers on drop, £9 to £9 10s; springing 2-yr. Jersey heifers, £6 ss, £6 15s. £7 5s to £8 ss; Jersey cows, due August, £9 to £l3; Jersey cows, due September, £6 to £8 15s; i'at cows. £5 to £6 ss; forward cows. £3 18s to £4 16s: store cows £2 5s to £3 10s; cull cows. 10s to 355; 2>/ 2 -yr. P.A. steers, to £9 Is. Pigs: Sow to farrow, £6; choppers, to £2; store pigs. 375. 39s to 41s; weaners.- good, 26s to 30s: weaners, medium, 22s to 255: weaners. small. 15s to 21s.
