MARTINBOROUGH
BOWLING CLUB BUSINESS AT ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Martinborough Bowling Club was held on Wednesday night. Mr W. J. Knell presided over a good attendance of members. The president reviewed the work of the season, and the following officers were elected: — Patron, Mr Adam Wright; president, Mr W. J. Knell; vice-president, Messrs R. S. Baker (senior) and G. L. Sievers (junior); secretary and treasurer, Mr H. Madsen; committee, Messrs McNally, Caseley, Jolly, Boyd, Jenkins, White and Hackston; delegates to centre, Messrs Knell, Baker and Madsen; selector, Mr S. Boyd; auditor, Mr Jolly; green superintendent, Mr Boyd; match commit tee, Messrs Jolly, Caseley and Jenkins.
Daffodil Society. The annual meeting of the Daffodil Society was held on Wednesday, when there was a fair attendance, presided over by Mrs H. W. Blundell. It was decided to hold the annual show in September, the proceeds to bezdevoted to soldiers’ parcels, the Red Cross Society, and Merchant Service. Officers elected were: —Patron, Mrs John Martin; president, Mrs A. W. Blundell; vice-presidents, Mesdames Perry, Kershaw, Pain, and Miss M. C. Martin; committee, Mesdames Griffiths. Chapman, Ward, Knell, W. B. Martin. Perry, Hamilton, Caseley, Sadd, Baker, Boyd, Blathwayt, Thomas, Cotter, Dale. Robson and Yates, and Misses H. Dymes and Harvey; executive, Mesdames Blundell, Knell, Boyd and Dymes; secretary, Mrs N. Prussing; assistant secretary, Mrs Chapman.
