FEATHERSTON
THE LATE MRS K. NIX . FUNERAL LARGELY ATTENDED. (“Times-Age” Special.) The funeral of the late Mrs Kate Nix took place at the Featherston Cemetery yesterday afternoon and was largely attended. The services at St. John’s Church and at the graveside were conducted by the Rev. J. R. Higgs. The pall-bearers were Messrs W. Nix, W. Reed, N. Skeet, J. G. Donald, A.' Crawford and H. Worsley. The late Mrs Nix, who was born in Melbourne and came to Featherston when a girl, had been an invalid for the past 14 years. She was predeceased by her husband in 1925. A family consisting of Mrs Reed, Misses Olive and Myatle Nix and Mr C. J. Nix, all of Featherston, are left to mourn their loss. Among others, beautiful floral tributes were received from the Wairarapa Racing Club, Wairarapa Automobile Association, St. John’s Masonic Lodge, Defence Rifle Club, Haunui Croquet Club and the Featherston Golf CluK Home Guard Parade, A compulsory parade of C Company, Featherston Home Guard, will be held for all ranks for musketry training on Sunday. August 1, at 9.30 a.m. Members will assemble at Company Headquarters. COSY THEATRE “RIDERS OF THE TIMBERLINE." There will be two big features presented tonight. "Riders of the Timberline” features William Boyd and Andy Clyde in a thrilling story of the west, and “Old Mother Riley in Business” is an excellent comedy in which Arthur Lucan portrays the chief character.
