TO FATE OF BRITISH PRISONERS

If Italy decides to get out of the war, one of the prior conditions of any armistice will be the immediate release of the 80,000 British prisoners of war who are held in Italy, says the “Daily Mail,” quoting a highly-placed official. Any attempt to smuggle prisoners from Italy into Germany would probably be regarded as an act of continuing hostility. The International Red Cross is closely watching the developments in Italy. Geneva has been asked to report any considerable movement of prisoners in Italy.
