APPEAL BOARD
MR R. R. BURRIDGE APPOINTED CHAIRMAN. LONG STANDING VACANCY FILLED.. Mr R. R. Burridge, of Masterton, has been appointed chairman of the Wairarapa Armed Forces Appeal Board. The appointment was made by the Minister of National Service, the Hon. A. McLagan. The other members of the board are Messrs L. T. Daniell and F. Cole. Since the resignation of the former chairman, Mr T. Jordan, some months ago, Mr Cole has been acting-chairman of the board. Mr Burridge, who is a returned soldier of the last war, is honorary solicitor to the Wairarapa R.S.A. and to the Wairarapa Patriotic Association, of which he is also a trustee and a member of the Claims Board. He was a member of the Repatriation Board that operated after the last war. Mr Burridge is a graduate of the New Zealand University with the degree of L.L.8., and since 1919 he has been Crown Solicitor for the Masterton district. He is a former member of the Masterton Boroug Council.
