Gunner P. G. McCormack is spending part of his furlough with his parents in Masterton. He is accompanied by Mrs McCormack.
The following naval casualty was reported last night: —Archibald, Arthur H. P., Acting Petty Officer Airman (Auckland), killed in flying accident. Friends in Masterton of Miss B. Ristori will be interested to hear that she is now stationed in the NorthernTerritory of Queensland. Sister Ristori was trained at the Masterton Hospital. Mr and Mrs F. Dorset, of Opaki, entertained a large number of friends in honour of their son, Stoker B. Dorset, who is on leave. Games and dancing were enjoyed by the guests who wished Stoker Dorset the best of luck. The death occurred at the Lower Hutt on Monday of Mr William Barclay Russell, a son of the late l Mr and Mrs John Russell, pioneer settlers of the Hutt. The late Mr Russell had lived most of his life in Lower Hutt, except for 'Some years he had spent in Masterton. Mrs I. Allen, of Upper Plain, is a sister.
