PATRIOTIC SOCIETY SUCCESSFUL GAMES NIGHT. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Patriotic Society held a very successful “games night" on Saturday evening. The winners in the cards were: Ladies. Mrs Walker: men. Mr H. Burch and John Hull. A competition for a parcel of groceries donated by Mrs J. McDonald realised £2 14s and was won by Miss E. McLean. A box df chocolates realised £1 17s 6d and was won by Hughie Rolls. The following goods were donated and auctioned:—Brooches made and donated by Mrs Taverner realised 15? lOd; vegetables (given by Charlie Leach) 14s 6d; saveloys and honey (Mr H. Percy). 6s Id; silver birch and oak trees (Mr H. Percy), 11s; lemons (Mrs G. Godinagh) 9s 4d; Russian toffee (Mr J. Smith) 5s 3d; wild pork (Mr A. Leach) £1 6s Id; a model made from a carrot by Mrs Hull. Is. The hastes-, ses were Mesdames J. H. McDonald, A. McDonald and Nancy McDonald. Personal Items. Driver T. Rolls and Mr A. Rolls arc the guests of Mr H. Rolls. Mr and Mrs Harcombe have been visiting Auckland.Mrs Thompson was the weekend guest of Mrs V. Payne. Driver Bert Tobban spent the weekend with Mr and Mrs Hartley.
