WELCOMED HOME AT SOCIAL GATHERING. Lieutenant Ron Johnson, who is on furlough from the Middle East, was guest of honour at a "welcome home” party tendered to him in the Savage Club rooms, Masterton, last night by the Hibernian Society and the Catholic Club. Dancing was enjoyed to music supplied by Barnes’s orchestra, and Mr W. Orange was a capable M.C. Many bright and entertaining musical items, etc., were given by the Glee Club and others. Short speeches of welcome were made by Father N. Moore and Messrs R. Gleeson, J. McDonald and W. Orange, to which Lieutenant Johnson replied. Supper was served by a ladies’ committee.
