PERSONAL
Mrs Shepherd Smith, formerly a resident of Masterton, and now of .Te Awamutu, is paying a visit to Wellington and Masterton, accompanied by her daughter, who is in the W.A.A.F. The engagement is announced of Constance, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs G. Hatton, Palmerston North, to Pvte. Douglas Minifie, younger son of Mrs P. Minifie and the late Mr P. Minifie, Masterton.
A pleasant evening was spent in the Odd Fellows’ Hall last night when _ a farewell party was tendered to Aircraftman Douglas Faulknor, of the R.N.Z.A.F. Mr R. Rippon, on behalf of those present, made a presentation to the guest of the evening.
