WOMEN OF FRANCE
REFUSAL TO DESPAIR. ANGRY NAZI COMPLAINT. French women refuse to admit defeat. or give up hope. This is the covered admission furnished by the Nazicontrolled French Press, constantly fulminating against.the stupid womenfolk of France. “L’Effort,” one of these Germancreated journals, writes bitterly: “Today there is a minor difference which is in effect a major one. It is astonishing that women, who, contrary to what many people believe, are endowed with a very fine political sense, do not see this difference. “By defeat and its consequences we have been eliminated from the fight. We cannot enter it again. And by obstinately persisting in their very unwise attitude women are doing a disservice to their country and their government. Their fanaticism and their blind rage are all the more dangerous. That is why, by opposing the wise advice of the Government with all their passion and strength of will, in a manner which may appear noble, so many women are misleading themselves, misleading Frenchmen and, it may be, doing irreparable harm to their country.”
